Rona Randall was born in Cheshire, but grew up in London. She won a scholarship to a local college of art, but circumstances prevented her from taking this up and she took a secretarial course which she hated. She studied drama under the late Frank Forbes-Robertson and became an actress for a time. After this she worked as a secretary in an editorial office, then became a journalist, before moving on to writing fiction. She is married to a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, and has one son and two grandchildren. She lives in Kent.
Rona Randall has herself progressed, through pottery, to become an accomplished modeller in ceramics, and the unusual background of The Potter's Niece is one she knows well.

Romance is the name of the game in this book. This book delivers what we all want more romance and excitement in our life. Overall I am very well pleased with this book and the excitement it has brought me. This book had me unwilling to put it down until I turned the last page as I was so enthralled with the plot.The author of this book knows how to deliver the good in this romance novel. Would I recommend this book to other people? Yes I would including friends. I absolutely think this is great book. This is better than the first volume, the story is more focused.
This was a really good sequel but also good as a stand alone read. Ms Randall did an excellent job of weaving the old and the new. A good read and rich characters.
This is the second in a trilogy of the Drayton Potteries. Olivia has decided to not live as a gentle lady with wealth at her disposal, but decides to use her talents to work in the pottery which her uncle, Martin, owns. She has a cousin, Lionel, who would like to marry her. Lionel has tormented her all her life, has been cruel in his treatment of her, and she would rather remain single than to be with him. She does have an attraction to the local ferrier, but he does not seem to notice her. Where will Olivia's talents take her?
I really enjoyed The Drayton Legacy, and The Potter's Niece was a great continuation. There was a lot of references to events in the first book, and did not feel like you would understand a lot that had happened if you had not read the first. I look forward to reading the final book in this series, I am sure I will not be disappointed.

This is the second book in the potters series. Fell in love with this author when I read the first book in the series, The Drayton Legacy. I hope more of her books will be offered in the future in the format.
I really enjoyed this novel, the first I have read by Rona Randall; and it was a freebie. The author's writing is good which means the story moves smoothly. She developed her main characters well although there were times I wondered if she was going to be able to draw all of her plot strands together. I enjoyed learning about the making of pottery. I have already ordered the next book in this series on my so will be able to start it tomorrow.
